Hello from our farm…

Welcome to our farm. We are known as Erstwhile Acres. This is OUR little space to share about our life, our family, and our farm. When we bought this farm we had big plans to raise bison. Although we have not let go of that dream, we decided to start with cattle (to make sure we were capable) and have fallen in love with raising them.

Meet the animals on our farm…

In 2020, we moved to our farm from town. We had a very large property in town and had chickens and a large garden. When we moved we brought the chickens with us and added several more animals to the farm. Today we are raising beef cattle, chickens(for eggs), goats(they are freeloaders and escape artists), and ducks(they just make a huge mess but are fun to watch).

Horses on the farm

In 2022, we got horses and have been spending a lot of time learning how to care for them. We hope to be able to add an outdoor riding arena to our farm in the coming year. The horses have been very therapeutic for one of our children and I am so thankful we made the leap to add then to our farm. We currently have 3 horses on the farm but only one of them is ours.

Welcome to the farm from our family

Other things you will find on our farm are gardens, cats and dogs, home renovations to our 1918 farmhouse, cooking, finances, kids, and preserving food.

We left our suburban lifestyle to begin building our dream farm in 2020. After many years of praying and wishing of this lifestyle, we finally are here. We can’t wait to share our journey with you.
